The building of Quinta do Esteval was designed during the eighteenth century.
In addition to the manor house designed as a rural house, you find the garden, carefully planned and linking up perfectly with the building of an overall urban design of dynamism and grandeur clearly allusion Baroque.
The house has plant "L" composed by two rectangular and 4 volumes water coverage. The game forms created by the dynamism of the plant and the pace imposed on the main facade (structured in two overlapping gaps and torn by fenestration straight lintel) corrobam baroque architectural flair already sensed the intimate urban interface pleasure garden with the building itself.
The main facade of the house was designed using also some constructive sobriety which refers to the functionality and characteristic dispossession of Pombaline architecture, visible in the linearity of the balconies in wrought iron and the typology of azulejo sets, polychrome, with radial thems and central framed by a border of concheados. A light rococo suggestion is visible through the use of vegetal motifs undulating and winding representations of birds in the tile pattern.
Quinta do Esteval is a beautiful example of eighteenth-century architecture where, in scholarly fashion, cohabit several architectural and decorative languages in vogue during the eighteenth century.
Throughout the twentieth century were carried out various restoration work carried out by the architect Alberto Cruz.
